Summer 2013 - Llandudno video

Hi guys!

Sorry I've been away. I've recently arrived at Falmouth, Cornwall to stay with my sister. A few days ago, Z and I went on a trip to Llandudo. We rode from Coventry to Llandudno by motorcycle. I'll be posting what I thought of the trip as soon as I get some photos from Z. For now, here's a short video of the trip. You'll be seeing views of the town, The Llandudno Pier & The Great Orme.

I must warn you though, I'm not the best in editing videos but I hope you like it!

Summer tunes

Woke up to Affie today. She sent me this to listen to and right then, I fell in love again:

Tha Diamonds x Game of Thrones mash up is just genius! (I've been literally spending my days catching up with GoT, if you haven't started, you should! In the words of Angus Bonnett it's a "Class" show)

This would be one of my favs, which one is yours?

Fashion grabs

After a long week, I've finally received my order in the mail. My High Heel Bobby Patent Lace-Up Shoe is here!

I'm a UK size 5 normally, so I chose a US 7.5. They came in a white packaging and the laces were not attached to the shoes. I got a bit confused of how to lace them up but I got it right in the end. They fit very snug. The length of my feet were very close to the length of the shoe and had only little or no space. I tried them on while walking and they were comfortable, the heels are 2 and a half inch, and I had no problem balancing myself ( they're not that high anyway).

The shine on the shoes were very pretty. The shape is very flattering as well and is versatile.

The only issue I have is how fitting the shoes are. Other than that they're quite comfy and super cute. Can't wait to take them out next week!

Favourite Finds: Leang Leav

You know how on youtube you get Monthly Favourite videos? Well I'm not doing that. I might just start off by doing "Favourite Finds" posts.

Yesterday two of my lovely friends (Amal K & Haziyah R) suggested me to check out poems by a contemporary artist Lang Leav. I instantly fell in love. I even ordered her book Love & Misadventures as a gift for a friend. If you love poetry or reading, she's the girl for you. You can order her book on Amazon. Since I'm in the UK, I got a cheaper option to order it from here. Hope you find her inspiring!

Sunnies for Summer

An alternative to buying new sunnies? Vamp up your old sunnies

Love & Happiness

Instagram: @AinulApri

Hi guys! The theme I'd like to point out today is love and happiness! I've came across many different people over the years and even way back, who have had a strong effect on me. I myself have been through different stages of my life, adopted different characters and various versions of who I am. Some are good but most unfortunately were pretty awful.

I think my problem was that I care too much into what others thought of me. By involving myself with more social networking, I introduced more ways for me to be influenced by other people. I remember starting off with the old Friendster, moving to Facebook and Twitter. These are probably the major sites where I've gotten myself into disputes with others (include Formspring with that).

There are people who brought me down. Hurt me for reasons they believed to be just. I'm sure you've experienced that before too right? I don't think there is a way to avoid people like that. The worst part is that I acted on them and by taking part, I created a monster

The best advice I got from a dear friend (S.C) was to "be the bigger person". It's hard enough to deal with the pain you get inside when somebody brings you deliberate unhappiness, and it is even harder to put your chin up and walk away. Although at certain circumstances, that's one of the best things to do because by responding negatively to them, you are indulging them by responding.

I still don't understand why and how people could do horrible things to others. They could have their own reasons, they could be having a bad day or they themselves are hurting too. We can't change or predict others personalities and with that in check, the starting of University, I decided to not give out my trust freely like before.

I regretted it now because I prevented myself from forming relationships with my own flatmates and some who I could've been close friends with. It was until I met Z that I began to open up more and realised that not all people are bad. (Unfortunately though I still couldn't get away from drama completely, I was treated pretty badly by someone but the difference this time was, I learnt to let it go and let her be).

The task I would like you to take today, is to spread more love and happiness to the world. How you ask? By starting to give love to you. You are a person full of life and wonders not even I know of. Your own happiness can radiate and spread to others around you! Start of with a smile, treat yourself with something you like! You deserve ever inch of happiness. Don't let anybody take that away from you. Find what makes you happy and keep on moving forward.

If we all start trying today to be the better versions of ourselves, maybe one day, we could influence at least one person to and start a chain reaction. InsyaAllah.

With Love,
Ainul

Birthday picnic!

Today we celebrated Amy and Angus's birthday!

We were originally planning for an outdoor picnic but ended up having it indoors because the weather was a bit gloomy today. I got the balloons I was assigned by Affie to take care of and Affie decorated the birthday cake. We cleared up the floor and set up the napkins and plates before everyone arrived. Amy and Angus were the first to arrive and they were happy with their princess plates and napkins ( creds to Affs). Becky arrived with her home made brownies looking very pretty in a floral dress.

We spent our afternoon stuffing our faces with sweets, crisps, chocolate and humus. Becky brought along her white board and we played Pictionary! We started off with 'Disney' and ended up with 'Songs'. I had a lot of fun with it.

We surprised Amy & Angus with cake, although we just found out today that Angus dislikes chocolate and cake. I left earliest because I was down with a headache and needed a nap. I had a great time with everyone (we were missing Ibtehal who's away right now). I'm thankful to have ended up with such a great group of friends. If you were to meet them, I'm confident you'll love them too! Hope I get to see them more next academic year.

Wishing everyone a great summer!

Hope you had a nice day today too!

Meeting with the doc

Hi guys!

As I've mentioned yesterday, I went to see the GP. Turns out I'm just under a lot of stress. Right after meeting up with the doctor, I realised I'm alright. I did feel a lot of stomach pains and also experienced headaches but nothing panadol can't take care of!

I met up with Affie for lunch at Varsity. I missed her so much. We sat outside, it was a bit chilly - I also got cranberry juice today again, they're really good for detox! Except they were pretty sugary. It took us a while to pick a table because I was being indecisive again. We also moved the cushions away, because Affie says they have AIDS (inside joke).

We walked to Tesco and went shopping for Angus & Amy's birthday picnic tomorrow! I'm very excited! I got some blueberries and strawberries and some sweet things to go with!

We also got princess plates and napkins!

Can't wait to get together with the others tomorrow. It's been a while since we really had quality time together. Hope everyone can make it and we'll have ourselves a nice and relaxing picnic.

I feel a little sad. My first year of university, all done just like that... I'm really going to miss my room. haha I really appreciated how comfortable it is. It's always so warm and now to think about it, quite dangerous. I literally can just lie in bed and sleep in all day. It's THAT comfortable. I don't want to say good bye. I hate saying good bye to anything.

We move on from things to places to experiences to people, all the time. It's all sort of like how the day starts and ends, there isn't going back. Not one day will every be the same like another. I wish I had done my year a bit different, maybe be more trusting, more open to people and experiences. And stop being afraid of making mistakes.

Just do things next time maybe? Things go right and wrong. That's how it is right? I hope you had a great academic year. If not I hope you will next year! I'll talk to you tomorrow. Hopefully have some more photos to share!

I love you, yep. You! Bye now!

Fish & Chips Sunday

Hi everyone!

Today for lunch, Z took me out for lunch to his favourite Fish & Chips restaurant (I forgot the name of it but will add it on to this post once I double checked with Z). It was located in Coventry, somewhere in the city centre. The weather was pretty good today, some sun and some cool wind. We sat outside. I ordered cranberry juice and we both enjoyed our cod and chips! Z took some of my mashed peas because I couldn't finish eating them.

I wore my thermal inners from uniqlo which were super thin, so I thought maybe they were alright for the weather. Although, during the ride back, I felt even more warm inside. My motorcycle jacket had a thermal lining as well and it added on to the heat from the sun. I was sweating a little and had to push my visor up at times. Other than that, perfectly nice ride. Always is with Z.

I came back and I felt really exhausted. I took a long nap afterwards and now I'm here, writing this post to you. To be honest I am worried about my health. I felt perfectly fine before my exams, but during exam week I really felt like I got weaker. I had days when my migraines won't go and my body would feel like they're out of energy. I did pop some vitamin b complex and a couple of headache-go-away pills to get me through the day (the right amount of course). I hope I can see a doctor tomorrow morning and get myself checked! I know I've been eating very well, and that I can cross out of my list of "potential illness"(I have a list in my head hahah pretty weird right? That ladies and gents is what happens when you study Biology).

On the plus side, these shades I've wanted are now back in stock at Mini Karats ! I've contacted them and I'm very excited to finally get my hands on a pair of Olivia's!

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I'll talk to you later!

Summer is here!

IG: @AinulApri

Hi everyone! How's everyone been?

I've just started my summer holidays officially! My exams are over and as I am freaking out in the back of my mind (due to results coming in a few weeks), I am also feeling quite liberated. I like that word, 'liberate'. The sun was up today so I finally took my new sunnies out for a try.

They're these 'steampunk' sunglasses and they are just so cute! They have double lenses (or should I say quadruple?). The flip ups are furnished in black while the back is clear lenses. They're pretty neat! I'm feeling a lot better now after exams. I've felt quite sick this whole week. Full of migraines and really painful aches in my stomach. I might still need to see the nurse on Monday just for a quick check up to see if I'm really alright.

I take this module called Agents of Infectious Diseases and after revision for the AID paper, I just can't take any sickness lightly. Even if it turns out to be nothing. There really isn't knowing the severity of an infection, they come in different shapes and sizes and definitely have their own personalities; like human beings, you just don't really know whether or not to trust them (JK I trust you guys - we can talk about my trust issues in another post).

I had a quick lunch at one of the restaurants in Uni called Xananas. Lunch was wonderful. I had a quick Bruwick (Brunei Warwick - by the way I am their 2013/2014 General Secretary!) meeting and all is well. Z and I went for a ride that late evening to meet up with H for dinner at our favorite Nando's. I swear today, Alhamdulillah, best meals ever!

It's just so nice to let the pressure off and enjoy your day, taking your time and just experiencing. I'm working on a new project, will definitely keep you guys posted about it when it's happening. I hope you all will like it as much as we do (yepp I'm working with a significant other on this).

I'm also happy to announce that I have completed my summer holiday outfit! I'm just still going back and forth about shoes. Hopefully I'll find a nice pair soon. Summer's just started, there's so much to plan for, from moving out, ending my first year of university, flight back to Brunei and not to forget my elder sister S's graduation! Wish her the best in everything! I'm definitely excited for that to happen!

I'm going to call it a night for now. Sorry I haven't got much to offer you today! Hopefully I'll come up with more inspiring things next time!

Have a good night!

By the way, I'm so loving this song. Opening up my summer with "Made in the USA" from Demi officially, although this is my current favorite:
